How to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind to Unlock Your Superpowers

Today I’m going to show you how to reprogram your subconscious mind so you can take back control and start living the life you deserve. We’re going to bust through those self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that have kept you trapped in mediocracy.

Because you can have it all. You can be the person you’ve always wanted to be and manifest the life you’ve always dreamed of!

But first, you’re going to have to change.

You’re going to have to step out of your comfort zone and be something different. Do something different.

You’re going to have to reprogram those nasty self-sabotaging beliefs that have denied you the life you deserve. And that all begins with rewiring the thought patterns you’ve collected over the years (maybe even decades).

It’s like learning any new skill. You keep practicing, and little by little you carve away at all the things you were doing unconsciously. You have to overcome your old limiting mindset to become what it is you want to be in this life.

When you unlock the door to the power of the subconscious mind and overwrite all those old patterns, habits, and programs that have been holding you back, the dark cloud will begin to lift.

What is the Subconscious Mind?

Your mind is a complicated beast. Don’t believe me? Just watch an episode of the Emmy-nominated show Brain Games on the National Geographic channel (although I can bet you won’t watch just one).

Play along with host Jason Silva or Keegan-Michael Key (depending on which season you watch) for a few minutes, and you’ll see just how complex and mysterious the brain really is.

It’s operating on so many levels and many of those levels you’re not even aware of. So, how do you reprogram the ghost in the machine (a.k.a. your subconscious mind)?

First, let’s get clear on what the subconscious mind is and how it works.

The subconscious mind is like a supercomputer, and it runs everything in your life. It’s a data bank of everything you’ve ever seen, done, or thought since the second you were born.

It stores all your beliefs, your experiences, your memories, and your skills.

When I say it houses everything that has passed through your awareness and even things you were never even aware of, I mean literally E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

The subconscious mind is even in control of keeping us alive. Do you consciously tell your heart to beat? No. Your subconscious does.

What about your breathing? How many times have you blinked your eyes today? Do you consciously digest your food?

Of course not. Most of us don’t even chew our food consciously. These are all subconscious actions.

Your subconscious mind is also our primal guidance system. It’s always monitoring the information coming from your senses for either dangers or opportunities. It’s how we’ve survived since the beginning of time.

The subconscious is always surveying your surroundings and signaling to you whether you’re safe or in danger. And triggering you to act accordingly.

So, how is this safety mechanism hindering us from achieving our goals and living the life we want?

1. Limiting Core Beliefs Form False Perceptions

Many of our core beliefs are either programmed from birth through our DNA or are largely often formed when we are children.

As children, we’re blank canvases and our minds are like sponges absorbing everything we detect with our five senses.

Then all of that information gets filed away to be used later on in life. And even though the information may be distorted and untrue, we unwittingly base all our life decisions around them.

What we believe to be true about ourselves and the world is completely false. Our low self-worth is deeply rooted in these false, hidden assumptions about the world, others, and ourselves. And, unfortunately, we mistake them as fact.

2. Negative Self-Talk Creates Low Self Worth

The limiting beliefs buried deep within your subconscious block you from manifesting the love, wealth, and success you deserve. Somewhere deep down inside, you may not really believe you’re worthy of your desires.

This low self-worth and belief that “I am not enough” has been stamped into our subconscious, and is sabotaging us every step of the way.

You may not even realize it’s there. But it lurks under the surface of your conscious mind.

And it’s the reason for all of our negative self-talk and for the behaviors that keep us from reaching our goals.

But you are enough. You deserve all the happiness and treasures the world has to offer. And you are more powerful than you know.

Once you can see that and believe it with all of your heart, the light inside you will turn on and miraculous things will start happening for you. You won’t have to strive to get your desires. Your desires will be attracted to YOU!

Because trust me, what you want wants you. You just have to remove the roadblocks.

3. Fear

The mind fears rejection and steers clear of it at all costs. It’s a fate worse than death for most of us. And we spend most of our lives, and our energy, limiting ourselves by our fears or trying to avoid them altogether.

Our brains are hardwired to feel fear in order to survive. And that was a crucial survival mechanism to have back in the day when you might get eaten by a lion or whatever life-threatening situations our ancestors had to encounter on a daily basis in order to stay alive.

But in modern times we have far less need for this alarm system in our day-to-day lives.

Not to say occasionally, fear still keeps us out of harm’s way. But we feel the same level of life-threatening emotion when we want to ask someone out on a date, switch jobs, ask for a raise, or even speak in front of a group of strangers.

Our fears are holding us back from making decisions that are aligned with the life we truly want.

So, you’re going to have to rewire the brain to move past your fears. To have a new response and react differently to them in order to overcome them.

4. Rejection of the Unknown

We are programmed to resist change. To seek out people and circumstances that are similar to what we’ve always known. And to run away from the unfamiliar and towards the familiar.

Again, it’s what kept our ancestors safe. But we no longer need this type of programming.

And by refusing to step outside of your comfort zone only keeps you trapped in a life of mediocracy.

That’s why it’s so hard to create real change in your life unless you overwrite what’s buried deep within the subconscious. It’s not just the limiting beliefs you’ve accumulated since your birth, but that humans have engrained within their DNA since the beginning of time.

For those that don’t know, Marisa is a world-renowned hypnotherapist, best-selling author, and behavioral expert. Her work is phenomenal!

And she has been a huge source of inspiration for me in changing my own inner dialogue and negative self-talk.

Now that you’re well-versed in how the subconscious mind works, let’s look at four powerful ways to rewire the brain for success.

4 Methods to Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind

1. Cultivating Positive Self-Talk

Learning to unconditionally love yourself, changing the words you say to yourself, and replacing the bullying voice inside your head with a more loving, gentle one are all good places to start when trying to improve low self-worth.

So, how do you do that? Simple.

AFFIRMATIONS

Start with observing your thoughts. How many negative or limiting thoughts cross your mind during any given day? If you’re like most people, thousands.

Affirmations (otherwise known as short, positive statements in the present tense, or as I like to call them ’empowering mantras’) can be a powerful tool to replace those nasty negative ninny thoughts with more beneficial ones.

So, now that you’re aware of the thoughts that are sabotaging you, write a more positive, nurturing version of those thoughts and then repeat them to yourself throughout the day.

A key component to making affirmations work is in the repetition of saying, hearing, or writing them. Repeating an affirmation over and over will in time cement it into your subconscious mind.

SELF-LOVE

Once you’ve begun to empower yourself with new thoughts, it’s time to fall in love with yourself by embracing some self-love.

We tend to bully ourselves with all kinds of disapproving, self-criticizing thoughts on a daily basis. Until we begin to feel that we’re not worthy of love or success.

But through the practice of self-love, we hold our own well-being and happiness in high regard and nurture our own needs (physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually).

To strengthen your self-love, start by practicing gratitude, releasing any judgmental thoughts (towards yourself or others), and set healthy boundaries to protect your sense of well-being.

Self-love helps to overwrite the subconscious programming in your mind that tells you that you’re not worthy of your desires. And this primes it for the other methods I’ve listed below so that you can rewire your brain successfully with lasting effects.

All these methods go hand-in-hand, but having a sturdy foundation to rebuild your new, fabulous self on first is the surest way to become a master manifestor that can create the life of your dreams.

2. Scripting & Visualization

Another powerful way to effectively reprogram your subconscious mind is by visualizing exactly what you desire for your life. And when used properly, visualization in combination with scripting can be a game-changer.

We’re visual creatures. And when we use the power of our imagination to create our reality instead of for just wishful daydreaming, we can reprogram the subconscious mind and steer it in the desired direction.

When you know exactly where you want to go, your subconscious mind will work hard to get you there.

But the key here is being specific.

You can’t be vague or wishy-washy, but rather you must give your subconscious very clear, detailed instructions.

That’s where scripting comes in. Scripting not only helps to fine-tune your vision, but the act of physically writing your desires down further reinforces that vision upon the subconscious mind.

So, with as much detail as you can muster, write out exactly what it is you desire and how you envision your life.

But only focus on the end result. Don’t worry about the ‘how’ all your dreams are going to come to fruition.

Then either when in a meditative state or right before you fall asleep, visualize your desires from first-person point of view. And repeat your scripted scene over and over until it feels natural.

Now, let’s get into how to go deeper into the mind to heal your inner child and abolish those nasty limiting beliefs with meditation and hypnosis.

3. Meditation

Meditation is an amazing method to heal the mind. It allows you to bypass the conscious mind and connect directly to the subconscious.

Start with an intention. Before you begin, set the intention (either out loud or mentally) to reveal any blockages or limiting beliefs.

Once you’re in a deep meditative state, observe the thoughts, memories, or emotions that arise. Allow them to be and listen for any messages or guidance that your inner voice may offer.

The voice of your intuition will be soft and gentle. You may want to have a pen and paper nearby to write down anything that comes up during your meditation session.

But if nothing happens, don’t get discouraged. It’s ok.

The answer or an ‘aha’ moment may arise later during the day or maybe over the next few days.

Just keep trying.

4. Subliminals + Hypnosis

Once you’ve identified what unconscious beliefs are blocking your desire and creating havoc in your life, both hypnosis and the use of subliminals are amazing tools to reprogram the subconscious mind with new thought patterns.

Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation and focused attention, where positive suggestions can be more easily accepted by your subconscious mind.

It won’t happen overnight, but over time the powerful messages within any hypnosis session will rewire your brain. I’d recommend giving it at least 3-4 weeks.

And subliminals are another powerful tool to reach the subconscious mind and rewire your brain to release any thoughts, beliefs, or habits that are blocking you from manifesting significant progress in your life.

Basically, subliminal messages are affirmations encoded within anything from videos to advertising to music. They typically are ‘hidden’ from the conscious mind in order to bypass critical awareness and logical reasoning to reach into the subconscious mind and promote fast, long-lasting transformation.

So, grab some headphones, lie back, and relax as you have a listen.

Seeking Happiness from Within Guarantees Your Success

On a final note, for any of the above methods to effectively reprogram your subconscious mind, you must stop searching for happiness outside of yourself.

In the knowing that happiness comes from within and dropping your neediness for your desires, you create a strong foundational core (like a blank slate) that allows your desires to materialize.

That’s how you become a manifesting powerhouse.

No shiny new car, Prince Charming, or monetary win fall will fill that growing hole inside you. And the more you try to fill it with ‘stuff,’ the bigger the hole gets, and the more we feel like we’re not enough.

It’s an endless cycle.

You want your desire because you think it will make you happy. Then you get that desire and when the newness wears off, so does the happiness.

Now you feel worse than before because you got what you wanted but you’re still not happy. The hole inside you feels a little bigger, so you try to fill it with something else — a new, bigger desire. But none of your desires will make you happy.

You have to be happy before you start seeking for treasures out in the external world. Happiness is an internal discovery, not an external one.

YOU ARE ALREADY WHOLE AND COMPLETE.

When you realize this, it won’t matter if you manifest your dreams. You will (believe me), but it won’t matter. And THAT is what attracts it to you!
