Chakras According to The Law of One: Overview of the Seven Energy Centers
HERE’S YOUR CRASH COURSE IN THE LAW OF ONE, THE ROLE OUR CHAKRAS PLAY IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES, AND A GUIDE TO BALANCING THEM.
The Ra Material: The Law of One is a spiritual guidebook that emphasizes the importance of balancing our seven energy centers and the role they play in our spiritual evolution. It also explains how we can clear and activate our chakras by utilizing the life lessons we encounter each and every day.
According to Ra, Earth is very much like a school. Essentially, the whole reason we incarnate here is to make a choice. ‘The Choice’ actually. To either polarize toward the positive path (service to others) or negative path (service to self).
And in order to push us to make this choice, life provides us with catalysts — experiences that offer us lessons to advance in our spiritual growth.
Consider the coincidences and odd circumstances by which one thing flowed to the next. Consider this well. Each entity will receive the opportunity that each needs.
– Ra, The Law of One session 8.1
These life lessons can be as small as someone cutting you off in traffic. Or as big as the death of a loved one. They can be positive or negative. But they’re like forks in the road. Always allowing us the opportunity to choose in which direction we want to go.
Each catalyst we experience in our life affects our correlating energy centers. Depending on how we respond to the catalyst, we either activate, block or partially block the chakra that relates to that particular situation or experience.
Once the energy centers are activated, you can then balance them.
If each chakra were a string on a guitar, plucking them one-by-one would be the equivalent of activating them. And playing them all together in a well-harmonized melody would be the equivalent of balancing them.
In this article we’ll explore a brief overview of what The Law of One Material is, who Ra is, and key concepts within their message. Then we’ll dive into the energy body, how blockages occur, and the importance of balancing your energy centers.
Finally, we’ll take a quick look at each of the seven chakras within the energy body.
This is the first in a series of posts that will detail the Law of One material in relation to the chakras. In the articles that follow, I’ll dive deep into each of the seven energy ray centers. And will go into detail about how to clear and activate them.

Brief Overview: What is Ra and The Law of One Material?
The Law of One material is a collection of 106 channeled conversations that occurred in the ’80s between three individuals (who were experienced channelers) and a group of higher-density beings that referred to themselves as Ra.
In these sessions, Ra explains the nature of reality, the nature of being, the nature of consciousness, who we are, and why we’re here.
In other words, the Law of One is essentially a guidebook for how life was created, the reason why it was created, how to maneuver through life, where life on this planet is headed, what happens after death, and what’s in store for us in higher densities.
It dives into everything from metaphysics, cosmology, our evolution, historical events and figures, life on other planets, reincarnation, the archetypal mind, and so much more.
An integral theme woven throughout the Law of One material is the importance of our seven energy centers. And although it’s basically in alignment with ancient Hindu teachings regarding the chakra system, Ra’s explanation answered a lot of questions for me that I was never able to find anywhere else.
But it’s not an easy read.
In fact, the Law of One material is extremely complex and dense as it’s coming from a civilization of far more intelligent beings.
Ra communicates by using the most accurate words available within our limited human language. But this efficient way of using our language can make it hard to follow (and at times downright confusing). Adding to the level of complexity of understanding already complicated concepts.
So, Who is Ra?
Essentially, Ra is a civilization of highly advanced, spiritually evolved beings that lived on Venus 2.6 billion years ago and have ascended to the sixth-density level of spiritual evolution.
They explain that they’re part of a Confederation (a larger group of advanced beings and civilizations) that have been given the mission of looking after and guiding lower-density planets, such as Earth, as part of their own spiritual evolution.
Ra says they previously visited Earth thousands of years ago and tried to spread the message of the Law of One in Egypt with ‘mixed results’. The Egyptians began to distort the original message and worshiped the beings, considering them gods. (Hence, the Egyptian god, Ra that appears in our history books.)
They also attempted to share their advanced technology with the Egyptians. Ra taught them how to build the pyramids (which were to be used as healing centers), how to use crystals, the chakra system, the tarot (which originally was intended to explain the archetypal mind), and many other concepts.
But since the Law of One message was distorted by the Egyptians, Ra felt a sense of duty to return and share their message once again in order to help people on Earth.
They’re like our guardians and are tasked with looking after us and our planet.
So, when Ra heard the call from those that channeled this work, Ra felt there was a far lower probability that this group of individuals would distort the message.
What is Ra’s Message?
So, what exactly is this message ‘The Law of One’ that Ra shares?
You are every thing, every being, every emotion, every event, every situation. You are unity. You are infinity. You are love/light, light/love. You are. This is the Law of One.
– Ra, Law of One session 1.7
In the simplest terms, the Law of One is ultimately a philosophy for the origin of the universe and states that everything in existence is a manifestation of the One Infinite Creator. It also explains that the One Creator is exploring its creation through each and every one of its infinite designs.
That was why the One Creator manifested all of creation — to know itself. To fully experience, explore and know itself in all infinite possibilities.
And that is the very same reason why you’re here.
To know yourself. Fully and completely.
To experience life, respond to the catalysts you encounter, and feel the range of emotions that these catalysts offer you.
To examine and know yourself to the limit of your ability. Not to judge or condemn yourself (or others) for how you respond to these catalysts. But to learn from them.
Because you discover yourself as you respond to these incoming catalysts. And thus, through them, you become aware of who you truly are.
You’re a limitless, eternal being. A unique fragment of the One Infinite Creator that is exploring reality and discovering that everything that appears in your experience — every object, every plant, every animal, and every being — is a fragment of the same consciousness having its own experience.
It’s all you.

The Seven Densities of Consciousness and How They Relate to the Chakras
According to Ra, the One Creator manifested creation in such a way that there are infinite levels (or what Ra refers to as octaves) of experience in which we must evolve through in an ascending fashion to the next level until we merge back with the Creator.
Each octave contains seven densities (or stages) of consciousness. A density refers to the amount of light contained within a particular level of experience and each density offers a unique quality.
SIDE NOTE: This is a highly condensed explanation of the seven densities. There are sub-densities, and sub-sub densities, and so on infinitely. But for the sake of this article, you don’t need to wrap your brain around that.
How consciousness evolves through the seven densities mirrors how we can evolve spiritually through our current density. It’s a roadmap, on a grand scale, for how we can work with each of the seven chakras in our everyday lives in order to unblock and activate them.
It’s also important to note that the number seven is significant within the structure of the universe. Each density of consciousness corresponds to each of the seven chakras in our body, the seven colors in the rainbow, and the seven notes on a musical scale.
A Brief Overview of Each of the Seven Densities
Each density has its own set of rules and lessons we must learn before we can graduate to the next density. And if at the end of our lifetime we don’t learn the lessons we’re intended to learn, we continue to reincarnate over and over again until we do.
1st Density: Density of Simple Beingness (Awareness)
Associated with the Red Ray Energy Center or Root Chakra
It includes the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water)—all of which contain consciousness. These are the only entities that exist within this density. The Earth spent billions of years in this stage of timeless being with these elements interacting with each other until it evolved into the second density.
2nd Density: Density of Growth and Movement
Associated with the Orange Ray Energy Center or Sacral Chakra
It includes organic matter from first density with the addition of plants, animals, and minerals. Consciousness becomes individualized and evolves by developing awareness of ‘other’ (or different portions of itself) through interaction and communication.
3rd Density: Density of Self-Awareness and The Choice
Associated with the Yellow Ray Energy Center or Solar Plexus Chakra
This is our current density level. It includes humans, and consciousness evolves to become self-aware. That is, we’re aware of our own being with the potential to know we’re here to learn and grow. It’s also the density where the veil of forgetting and the choice to positively or negatively polarize is introduced. Catalysts are presented in order to force entities to make the choice. And the suffering caused by so-called ‘negative’ catalysts forces consciousness to break free of the ego (which was formed through second density and creates the illusion that we’re separate from other beings and all of creation). This is also the shortest, most intense of all densities.
4th Density: Density of Love and Understanding
Associated with the Green Ray Energy Center or Heart Chakra
In this density, the veil of forgetting is removed and we understand that we’re all one. It’s a density in which all beings open their hearts to unconditional love and serve one another. Eventually, beings evolve to form ‘social memory complexes’ (which is individual entities merging their consciousness, or all of their experiences throughout all incarnations, with a group of other entities). And, over time, communication becomes telepathic.
*Service to Self, negatively polarized, entities skip over the heart chakra and evolve through fourth density with intense greed, narcissism, and hunger for power.
5th Density: Density of Wisdom and Light
Associated with the Blue Ray Energy Center or Throat Chakra
In this density, entities seek to balance service to others (love) with wisdom. Entities also learn the lessons of worthiness and unity, and develop extremely advanced psychic abilities.
6th Density: Density of Unity and Balance
Associated with the Indigo Ray Energy Center or Third Eye Chakra
This density is an extremely honed state of consciousness in which entities perfect the balance between love and wisdom. In this density, the soul evolves into the ‘Higher Self’ (which is literally a highly-evolved version of you billions of years in the future) and turns back in time to help or guide its previous incarnations.
7th Density: Density of Foreverness (or Gateway)
Associated with the Violet/White Ray Energy Center or Crown Chakra
This is the final density of our octave. It’s the density where our personal identity and memories are lost as we merge back into unity with the One Infinite Creator.
SIDE NOTE: Planets and stars are living entities that evolve through the densities of consciousness as well. There is a timeline of major cycles, which I won’t get into in this article, when each planet shifts to the next density. And Earth is a third-density planet that is now shifting into a fourth-density planet.
This is actually what the Mayans were referring to in terms of the world ending in 2012. Their message was highly misunderstood. But according to Ra, they were actually merely indicating that Earth would come to the end of one of these major cycles around that time and would then be transitioning into the fourth density.

The Heart Chakra is Key to Graduating Third Density
The center of heart, or green ray, is the center from which third-density beings may springboard, shall we say, towards infinite intelligence. Blockages in this area may manifest as difficulties in expressing what you may call universal love or compassion.
– Ra, Law of One session 15.12
It’s very important to know that this is the Density of Choice. Meaning not only did we incarnate into this life with personal life lessons we must learn, but our main objective within this density is to make the choice (or polarize).
What does this choice have to do with our chakras?
According to Ra, we must unblock our first three lower chakras, working our way up to the Heart Chakra (green-ray energy center). As a third-density being, our challenge is to transcend the third (yellow-ray energy center), which is associated with the third density.
We must then open and develop the Heart Charka by embracing unconditional love and compassion. Thus, making the choice to polarize on the positive path of service to other.
When we make the choice to polarize positively and choose to operate from a place of love, we open the fourth chakra allowing us to move on to fourth density in our next lifetime.
And by unlocking the gateway of the Heart Chakra, the energy of infinite intelligence (prana) is allowed to flow freely to the higher energy centers.
This gives us access to the higher energy centers that connect us with our Higher Self.
Now, let’s take a closer look at what the energy body is and how blockages occur before we get into an explanation of each of the seven chakras.
RELATED: How to Open the Heart Chakra and Unlock Your Desires
What is Your Energy Body
The energy body is like a pipeline that connects your physical body to your spiritual body or soul — the part of you that is eternal. This energetic pipe runs vertically through your body along your spine and along it lies a rainbow of seven energy centers, or chakras.
When all the energy centers are open and clear, the energy of creation (the One Infinite Creator) flows freely through you. Ra refers to this energy as ‘love/light’ but is also known as prana — our life force energy.
In a balanced energy system, the incoming energy from infinite intelligence enters your energy body at the lowest chakra, the red ray, and proceeds flowing upward through all seven energy centers. The energy then exits the body at the crown of the head and returns to the Creator.
The chakra system is prismatic in nature and possesses all the colors within white light. As the love/light energy from infinite intelligence moves up our energy pipeline, each color is used by the ascending chakras. This is the reason for the colors of the chakras.

How Blockages Develop Within the Energy Centers
We’re always receiving a limitless source of vital energy (or prana). While we sleep, eat, work, and go about our daily lives, this energy flows through us.
If this energy flows freely (meaning there are no blockages) as it makes its way through our energy centers, we experience well-being, a positive state of mind, and peace.
However, these energy centers can become partially blocked or completely closed off.
In the case of a partially blocked energy center, the energy running up the pipeline through that chakra and on to the next is restricted, causing a buildup of energy along the pipeline.
And if an energy center is completely blocked, you stop the flow of energy altogether from rising any further, preventing access to any subsequent energy centers.
The energy body can’t be seen with the naked eye, but it absolutely has a profound effect upon our lives and how we experience it.
The reverse is also true. Our thoughts and emotions have a strong influence on our energy body.
How Our Thoughts Create Blockages
Our thoughts have a deep impact on our energy centers because our thoughts are energy. And they have the potential to become physical things.
Over time the energy of negative mental chatter becomes trapped within our energy body and forms a blockage. The flow of the energy traveling through our energy pipeline is then either weakened or cut off entirely. And when this happens, we’re unable to access the qualities or powers of our higher chakras.
These blockages in our energy centers can wreak havoc in our lives and our physical bodies.
For instance, negative thoughts can manifest as a physical imbalance or disorder of some kind. In other words, if your thoughts are mostly negative on a daily basis, they can manifest as physical disease, pain, or illness within the body.
But really, the so-called ‘disease’ is just trapped energy created by your negative thoughts and emotions that build up over time and clog your energy system.
Essentially, it’s our false beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world around us that attract unwanted situations into our life. These distorted thoughts cause us to react in a way that’s not in alignment with our true nature and block the flow of “love/light”.
We’ll talk more specifically about exercises to heal or clear your chakras later.
For now, just know that the best way to identify areas of concern within the energy body is by being present and observing your thoughts.
Now that we’ve tackled thoughts, let’s take a look at what role our emotions play in blocking our energy centers.
How Our Emotions Create Blockages
We’ve all got our issues. We hold onto grudges or resentments, judge others including ourselves, and hold onto fears that eat away at our peace of mind.
But it’s those very issues that create energy blocks that restrict or cut off the life force energy from flowing through our energy pipeline.
We’ve already learned that we’re constantly receiving catalysts (both positive and negative).
However, it’s most often the negative catalysts that we tend to notice and hold on to. These types of catalysts cause a highly charged emotional response within us. And that energy gets stored (or trapped) in our bodies.
Imagine that you lose your job, your spouse leaves you, your friend ghosts you, or a stranger insults you.
Do you respond in anger and take that anger out on someone else? Point the anger inward and curse yourself, feeling unworthy? Hold on to that anger and sharpen the blade of revenge? Or refuse to react and numb yourself from the pain?
What do you do with that energy? The energy of the emotions that the catalyst is activating within you?
According to Ra, you must transmute it by first accepting the emotion (by not judging it, ignoring it, or stuffing it down), and allowing yourself to fully feel it in a safe way without causing harm to another. And then balancing that emotion with an equal amount of the opposing positive emotion.
Ra also states that the key to processing catalysts for someone on the positive path is acceptance. While someone on the negative path will always try to control the catalyst.
Ok, and now for the part I know you’ve all been waiting for. Drum roll, please…
Here is an overview of each of the seven chakras and their role in our lives.

The Law of One Sheds Light on the Seven Energy Rays
Ra states that as you fully unblock the lower three energy centers, the energy centers begin to rotate. And as you develop the higher energy centers, they begin to form crystallized structures. This is the higher or more balanced form of activation of the energy centers.
Each event we experience in our life is processed by the chakra that relates to that area of life.
For instance, when you interact with a group of people, like your family or co-workers, you interact with the Solar Plexus Chakra.
And when you communicate, use your voice, or express yourself in any fashion, you interact with the Throat Chakra.
Every experience gives us an opportunity to activate our energy centers. And consciously looking at our experiences in terms of our chakras, is just another way of understanding and transcending them.
Once we activate our chakras, we can then balance them through meditation, contemplation, and embodying the concept that all of creation is one.
A Brief Description of the Seven Energy Centers
Any blockages or over-activations of energy centers listed below are only examples. There are far too many possibilities to list in this brief overview. For more detailed information, please refer to my subsequent articles on each chakra that are coming soon.
1st Red Ray Energy Center (Root Chakra):
The fundamental energy center that deals with survival, sex, and our connection with the Earth; it’s our foundation, roots us to the earth, and anchors our beingness within our body
2nd Orange Ray Energy Center (Sacral Chakra):
Deals with our emotions, personal identity, and the dynamics of our one-on-one relationships with other individuals; if you’re unhappy with yourself or with another individual, then you create blockage in your sacral chakra; when blocked you may develop certain behaviors or habits that reflect an insecurity in understanding who you truly are and a lack of self-acceptance
3rd Yellow Ray Energy Center (Solar Plexus Chakra):
Deals with our social identity and the dynamics of how we relate to or within groups (like family, work, and sports teams for example); blockages often manifest as avoiding groups or difficulty in finding a social identity; over activations can result in power manipulation, greed, and a need for social identity; also deals with the ego and breaking free of the illusion of separateness
SIDE NOTE: According to Ra, if you have blockages in the first three energy centers, you’re not able to access the higher energy centers. For that reason, it will become hard for you to continue along the path of seeking the Law of One (opening the higher chakras and spiritually evolving).
4th Green Ray Energy Center (Heart Chakra):
Deals with the giving and receiving of unconditional love and compassion to all beings and all of creation (including yourself); seated within this chakra is the consciousness of the One Creator in its personal aspect; it’s also the springboard to the spiritual energy centers and infinite intelligence; blockages in this area manifest as difficulties in expressing universal love and compassion
5th Blue Ray Energy Center (Throat Chakra):
Deals with wisdom and communication in honesty towards the self and in expression towards others; blockages in this chakra may be caused by difficulty in being truthful, expressing yourself authentically, speaking up for yourself or others, or communicating with others in general; even the lies we tell ourselves or others in an attempt to make ourselves look better, or when we bend the truth a little, can create blockage in the Throat Chakra
6th Indigo Ray Energy Center (Third Eye Chakra):
Deals with spirituality, consciousness, sacred energies, and seeing all as one
7th Violet/White Ray Energy Center (Crown Chakra):
Our connection to the Creator and is like a barometer that radiates the sum of your other energy ray centers (your overall vibrational expression); it’s not necessarily a chakra that needs to be worked on or balanced in the same way as the other energy centers
Importance of Being in Balance
The Law of One teaches us that everything in our lives should be in balance.
Everything.
That means balancing the food you eat. The exercising and resting of your body. Your work and family life (or work and play). The amount of time spent in solitude exploring your inner world and how active you are in the outer world. And even the emotions you experience.
Because life is all about balance. That’s the sweet spot where life seems to flow effortlessly.
The same is true for the energy that flows through our bodies. By living our lives in such a way that our thoughts, emotions, and actions are in alignment or balanced, we become a clear, unobstructed vessel. And the energy of the One Infinite Creator can freely flow through us.
But when there’s an imbalance in some area of our life, we create blockages in our energy centers. And as a result, we experience illness, pain, emotional distress, psychological disorders, and other catalysts that are pushing us to heal ourselves.
If we just observe our everyday life—what catalysts present themselves, what triggers us, what emotions arise, what physical symptoms are felt in the body, what lessons we’re being called to learn—we can figure out which chakra is out of balance.
This allows us to locate where exactly in the body energy is being constricted or blocked entirely.
You don’t just do it once, and then you’re done with that chakra. Balancing our energy centers is a constant process that continues throughout our lives.
There’s always a new lesson to learn. And every new challenge or experience that arises provides us with yet another opportunity to interact with the energies of our chakras.
You’re always working at it.
And according to the Ra material, it’s not necessary to fully activate the chakras. That’s a mastery that very few people ever achieve.
Rather the goal is to activate the chakras to a minimal necessary degree and then work towards harmony and balance between the energy centers.
Ra assures us that by clearing and balancing our chakras daily we can create peace within ourselves and our energy system.
Exercises to Balance the Chakras
Ultimately, according to the Law of One material, the name of the game in third density is to know yourself, accept yourself, and become the Creator that you are. And for those of us that need more instruction on how to go about doing this, Ra gives us several practices that we can use to balance ourselves and accelerate our embodiment of the Law of One.
1. Meditation and Contemplation
Meditation and contemplation are tools to focus your will on the thorough knowing of self and your experience. They’re essential in our spiritual evolution. And are also the foundation for a well-balanced mind, body, and spirit.
A clear mind helps us remain present in the world. And by examining our mind and the inner workings of our body, we’re able to connect to our spirit. As well as clear our energy imbalances.
➤ Meditation to Balance All Energy Ray Centers…

2. Seek the Love in Every Moment
According to Ra, each and every moment contains love. That’s the lesson of this density. We should consciously seek that love as much as we can. In order to do that, we must be present.
The catalysts that show up in our lives are attempting to teach us self-revelation. They’re an act of love to provide growth. And if we are able to consciously accept this process of catalysts within our lives, we accelerate our spiritual growth.
3. See the Creator in Everything
Ra reminds us that the universe is one being. And encourages us to see the One Creator in each and every person we encounter. Always. No exceptions.
Ra also asks that we see the Creator within ourselves, in nature, and in all of creation, too.
4. Reflect on Your Day
Another balancing technique is to take time at the end of each day to reflect on what happened. Mentally review your day.
What catalysts did you experience during your day?
What lessons were those catalysts trying to teach you?
How could you respond better the next time?
Where did you focus your thoughts and energy throughout the day?
What upset or triggered you?
Did something get under your skin?
Did you lose your cool?
What emotions did you experience throughout the day?
Look at those things and consciously work to balance and release that stuck energy.

How to Use Crystals to Balance the Chakras According to the Law of One
Throughout the Law of One material, Ra is asked about the healing methods of crystals. The methods that were taught to the Egyptians thousands of years ago. However, Ra states that because this information was greatly distorted and misused by the Egyptians, they were hesitant to share it this time around.
In fact, Ra warns that unless you’re a crystalized being (or an adept and true healer), the process of using crystals for healing has minimal effect on the energy centers.
Not to say they’re not helpful. Actually, they’re rather powerful. But Ra’s teaching in the Law of One material was more focused on balancing the chakras by way of using catalysts to harmonize our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
And for that reason, I’ll only briefly summarize a couple of the crystal healing methods Ra discusses.
With that being said, in addition to meditation, contemplation, and the daily practice of seeing all as the One Creator, Ra does give some instructions on how to use crystals in such a way as to detect blockages in the chakras and to aid in opening the energy centers.
Using Crystals to Indicate Blockages of Energy Centers
In the Law of One, Ra affirms that by using a crystal pendulum we can discover if an energy center is blocked or over-activated.
You just hold the pendulum over the body at the location of each chakra and note its movement. The pendulum will begin to move as a result of the subtle invisible energy radiating from your chakra system. And so when placed over each of the seven energy centers, the pendulum will reveal the energy level radiating from each center.
Keep in mind that the energy flowing through our chakras is constantly changing. And it’s normal for them to fluctuate through various states of being open or closed. So, you can’t just check them once. It should be done regularly.
- A pendulum that rotates in a circular motion indicates an unblocked energy center.
- A weak back and forth motion indicates a partially blocked energy center.
- And a strong back and forth motion signifies an over-activation.
If you don’t already have a pendulum, here are a couple of options. But if you have a crystal necklace, you can use that as well. Whatever you use just needs to be weighted by a crystal at one end.
Using Crystals to Energize the Energy Centers
The pyramid is an important shape, as Ra taught the Egyptians because it helps to focus the spiraling energy (intelligent energy or prana) from the Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra. It is like an etheric funnel.
There are actually three spirals of energy that travel up through the peak of the pyramid and, if placed properly, (either under your pineal gland if laying down or aligned with your spine and energy centers if seated) can travel through your body to energize you.
Just place a pyramid-shaped crystal (peak side up) under your pillow or under your bed (for no more than 30 minutes) while meditating to help align and activate this energy.
The pyramids can be filled with tiny crystal chips, or they can be plain, solid crystal. And they come in varying sizes. Below I’ve listed a smaller pyramid that you could comfortably place under your pillow. I’ve also included a larger option that you can place under your bed and use as a decoration in your home.
In Conclusion
I think that about does it for now. I sincerely hope you found this article helpful…or at least interesting.
